STEETON Male Voice Choir will begin a busy year of concerts on March 5 with a joint performance alongside award-winning Bingley women’s choir Opus 44.

The first concert of 2017 will be at the same venue as the Steeton singers’ last of 2016, the Octagon club on Bradford Road in Sandbeds.

Choir spokesman David Barraclough said the 2pm concert would offer a varied and entertaining programme.

He said: “The Octagon is a very informal, relaxed venue and offers the chance to hear two prestigious choirs and afterwards to ask members about life in a choir and the benefits of singing.

“The publicity team will be out in force to hopefully snare some new willing singers. Rehearsals are held every Monday at 7.30pm at Steeton Methodist Chapel and anyone contemplating joining or even just to experience a rehearsal would be made very welcome.”

Steeton Male Voice Choir will perform at Cliffe Castle Museum on March 26 at 2pm, and will tour to Northern Ireland in the spring.
