YOU’VE Got A Friend celebrates the music of James Taylor and Carole King in Ilkley.

King’s Hall hosts the tribute show on Thursday, March 2, from the same producers as the successful presentation The Simon & Garfunkel Story.

Maple Tree Entertainment say You’ve Got A Friend will trace the two musicians’ and songwriters’ careers from their first show together at Hollywood’s famous live music venue, The Toubadour, in 1970. The pair’s most notable collaboration came just a year later when Taylor recorded King’s You’ve Got A Friend, for which he won the 1971 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and achieved his first US number one hit.

Taylor and King’s musical partnership and friendship continues to blossom to this day: they joined forces again in 2010 for the successful Troubadour Reunion International Tour.

You’ve Got A Friend, presented as a concert, tells the artists’ heart-warming story intertwined with the music that shaped a generation. It features classic hits such as I Feel The Earth Move, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), Fire & Rain, You Make Me Feel (Like A Natural Woman) and Sweet Baby James.

The cast includes seasoned West End performer Kyla Brown as Carole King, Bill Lennon as James Taylor and fellow actor-musicians, who help narrate the show.
