A KEIGHLEY GP practice has been rated 'good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Farfield Group Practice – in West Lane – provided safe, effective, responsive and well-led care.

A report has just been published following the inspection, carried out last October.

Professor Steve Field, the CQC's chief inspector of general practice, said patients were full of praise for the surgery.

"They told us they were treated with compassion, dignity and respect and were involved in decisions about their treatment," he added.

"Their needs were assessed and care was planned and delivered following best practice guidance.

"Patients we spoke with were positive about access to the service.

"They said they found it generally easy to make an appointment, there was continuity of care and urgent appointments were available on the same day as requested."

He reported that facilities at the practice were good.

Information regarding the services provided and how to make a complaint was readily available.

Comprehensive safeguarding systems were in place, particularly relating to vulnerable children and adults.

Farfield said it was delighted with the rating.

Practice manager, Cheryl Lamb, added: "We were particularly pleased to receive two 'outstanding' ratings – for providing a responsive service for people with long-term conditions and for caring for people in vulnerable circumstances.

"This result reflects the dedication and hard work of the whole practice team, which always strives to offer a high standard of care to our registered patients."
