CARING youngsters at Kildwick Primary School have rallied round to support a charity which helped save one of their lives.
Katie Jackson, now ten, was born with a hole in her heart and needed surgery at Leeds General Infirmary when she was just weeks old.
She and fellow pupils organised a bun sale, which raised £333 for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund.
And charity representatives Alex Green and Holly Rawlings, accompanied by mascot Katie Bear, visited the school to collect a cheque.
They spoke to the children about their work.
Headteacher, Tim Whitehead, said: "Katie owes her life to the charity, which provided much-needed support and care.
"Katie still has yearly check-ups but enjoys a fit and healthy lifestyle."
