TWO TEAMS of girls from Parkside School in Cullingworth were successful in a district schools football tournament.
A team made up of year nine, 10 and 11 students won all their games and as a result came top of their league.
A team of year seven and eight girls also played well and managed to achieve a well-fought draw in their last game.
Parkside PE teacher Ben Miller said: “It was a great effort from all 15 girls.”
Parkside’s under-13s girls soccer team scored their first goal in a match last December as part of the EFL Football League Cup hosted by Bradford City at the city’s SportsZone.
Earlier in 2016 the girls were runners-up in a district-wide soccer competition at the Marley sports ground in Keighley, cruising through the early stages of the competition then losing by one goal in the final.
