A WINNER of last year’s Strictly Come Dancing stars in the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie this spring at Leeds Grand.

Professional dancer Joanne Clifton promises a jazz-tastic revival of the feel good show based on the Academy Award-winning film.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is set in the height of New York’s Jazz Age when ‘moderns’ – including a flapper named Millie Dillmount – were bobbing their hair, raising their hemlines, entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love.

Featuring a Fred and Ginger dance routine, the family show runs from April 17-22.

Jodie Prenger is on stage at the Grand Theatre until Saturday, April 8 in the 30th anniversary production of the one-woman play Shirley Valentine.

The play became an instant hit in 1986 with Shirley famously talking to the kitchen wall and making her husband’s tea - chips and egg.

Jodie is the one with the chip fryer as she performs the much-loved story penned by Educating Rita and Blood Brothers writer Willy Russell.

Those with a passion for Michael Jackson’s music are in for a treat from Tuesday to Saturday, April 11 to 15, when Thriller Live moonwalks into Leeds.

Direct from London’s West End, where it is now in its record-breaking 9th year, Thriller Live is billed as a spectacular concert of non-stop hits that pay homage to Jacko’s live performances and innovative dance moves.

Count Arthur Strong, an eccentric, semi-retired music hall performer from Doncaster who has delusions that he is a showbiz legend, performs his stand-up show on Sunday, April 9.

Drama and intrigue fill the last week of April at the Grand as an all-star cast present Ruth Rendell’s A Judgement in Stone, a grizzly murder mystery.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here runner up, comedian Joel Dommett, will perform his solo show on April 30.
