TOP INDIE band The Wombats have been announced as the final headline act for this year’s Bingley Music Live.

The Liverpool band will close the event on Sunday, September 3, playing their hits including Let’s Dance To Joy Division and Kill The Director.

They released their debut album, A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation, in 2007.

The Wombats will join fellow headliners Manic Street Preachers and The Kaiser Chiefs at the event, to be held at Myrtle Park between September 1 and 3.

Meanwhile, a number of the event’s other acts have been revealed.

Friday’s line-up will see alternative rock group Maximo Park and Manchester-based alternative/indie band Cabbage warm the crowd up for headliners the Manic Street Preachers.

Saturday’s stage will feature former Babyshambles and Libertines frontman Pete Doherty and Sheffield-based indie rock quartet Milburn performing before The Kaiser Chiefs.

The festival will conclude on Sunday, September 3, with Welsh rockers Feeder, whose hits include Buck Rogers, appearing alongside Soul II Soul, who enjoyed Grammy Award-winning success with their single Back to Life.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s executive member for environment, sport and culture, said: “There is such a varied line-up here that I am sure there is something to fit all music tastes. “
