A CHARITY has appointed its first community fundraiser to support carers across the district.
Richard Dunbar's role with Carers' Resource will include developing community fundraising links, organising events and helping to raise the profile of carers.
"It's a great pleasure to be joining Carers' Resource," he said.
"The work it does as a charity in raising awareness about the role of unpaid carers, highlighting the challenges they face as well as recognising the contribution they make, is vitally important.
"My role will very much be focused on raising funds to help improve the lives of those who do an invaluable job on a daily basis caring for a friend, relative or neighbour."
Mr Dunbar – who is also a district councillor – says he is keen to hear from businesses, schools, community groups and other organisations interested in working with the charity.
He can be contacted on rdunbar@carersresource.org or 01274 449660.
