PEOPLE in Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury parish are invited to have their say on how local funds are spent.

They can attend one of three Community Chest meetings where organisations will vie for shares of cash made available by Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council.

The first of these meetings is at 7.30pm on Monday June 12 at the Wuthering Heights Pub in Stanbury. Only residents of Stanbury and the surrounding hamlets on the electoral register will be eligible to vote.

On Saturday June 17 there will be two Community Chest meetings – one at Lees Methodist Church, Cross Roads, from 10am till noon and the second at Haworth Village Hall in Butt Lane from 1pm to 3pm.

A parish council spokesman explained: "People can come along, hear which projects have applied and vote on where they would like the money to go.

"This funding will make a huge difference to some of the groups that have applied."

For both the Haworth, and Cross Roads events, people attending one of these meetings must live in the village where the meeting is being held and be on the electoral register to be eligible to vote.
