A KEIGHLEY councillor said ordinary people have been left struggling to comprehend the "barbarity" of the suicide bombing at Manchester Arena.
Commenting shortly after the lethal attack this week, Central Ward councillor Zafar Ali said the atrocity represented the "worst of humanity".
He said everyone he had talked to in Keighley had been horrified by the mass murder and wounding of so many children and teenagers.
"It was a cowardly, evil and vicious act of terrorism, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of those who died or were injured," he added.
"This sort of barbaric attack must not be allowed to divide the communities of the UK, and we should co-operate with the police in helping to bring the culprits to justice.
"It is a difficult time and we all need to be united as one community."
