FIREFIGHTERS tackled blazing moorland between Harden and Long Lee in Keighley last night.
Crews from Keighley and Bingley put out the blaze after a two-operation on heather land off Long Lee Lane and Harden Road.
Children, who were seen by several people playing in the area, are believed to have started the fire deliberately.
Watch commander Michael Rhodes from Keighley fire station said the crews used beaters, backpacks and leaf blowers to put out the fire.
He said: “The damage was limited to a 60m by 60m area. There were natural firebreaks, including a cliff face. We were there from 8.30pm until it got dark, and we went back at first light to check on things.
“The fire is believed to have been set by children and youths playing. Quite a few people saw them in the area."
