KEIGHLEY town mayor Councillor Mohammed Nazam was guest of honour when Keighley tots graduated from their nursery.

The Tiny Stars Day Nursery in Goulbourne Street held its first-ever graduation ceremony for children due to start primary school in September.

The mayor presented each child with a certificate and framed picture of themselves in their graduation attire.

After the ceremony the children had a leavers’ party celebrating their hard work and achievements, with activities including a bouncy castle, henna and face painting.

Nursery manager Rafiana Isaq said: “It was our first ever graduation ceremony and I wasn’t sure about the response but the response we had just goes to show how involved and supportive our parents are in the care and education of their children.

“All the children have worked hard and they deserved something to celebrate their achievements, we are all so proud of them. All the staff at Tiny Stars wish them every success for their future.”
