STEPHANIE Clift has joined the cast of musical The Wedding Singer which returns to West Yorkshire during August.

The actress and singer will play the lead role of Holly in the light-hearted 1980s musical when it comes to the Grand Theatre in Leeds from August 22 to 26.

Stephanie trained at the Arts Educational Schools, London, where she gained her BA Hons in Musical Theatre, graduating in 2013.

Straight out of college she secured the role of Lisa in Mamma Mia in the West End then performed in the UK Tours of Crush and Little Shop of Horrors.

She also appeared in series 2 of Broadchurch for ITV, and in the BBC’s Christmas special of Call the Midwife.

The Wedding Singer is set in 1985 when hair was huge, greed was good and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart was New Jersey’s favourite wedding singer.

When his own fiancée dumps him at the altar a seriously bummed out Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own.

Can sweet-natured Julia and her best friend Holly lure Robbie out of the dumpster and back into the limelight?

Or is he going to see her head off down the aisle with Wall Street bad boy Glen? Only Grandma Rosie seems to be able to see that Robbie and Julia are the couple that are meant to be.

Starring alongside Stephanie is West End and musical theatre star Jon Robyns as Robbie Hart, following his turns in musicals Legally Blonde and Sister Act.

British singer-songwriter Ray Quinn plays Glen. He shot to fame as the runner-up X Factor in 2006 and as champion of Dancing on Ice in 2009.

West End leading lady and X Factor finalist Cassie Compton plays Julia, and comedy veteran Ruth Madoc stars as Grandma Rosie.
