IF you went down to Hewenden Ridge, you'd be in for a big surprise.

Because 45 children from Cullingworth Primary School's reception class were there.

The youngsters visited the village housing development as part of Teddy Bear's Picnic Day.

They were guests of David Wilson Homes, which funded a picnic lunch and provided dog teddies as mementoes.

Curtis Sorren, a sales advisor, said: "It was lovely to have some of the children from Cullingworth Primary visit the development to celebrate Teddy Bear's Picnic Day.

"They all really enjoyed the day – and loved the activities and toy dogs too!

"We believe in creating and nurturing strong relationships in the communities where we build, so we always try to work on interesting projects with schools local to us."

A school spokesman said: "We were delighted that David Wilson Homes invited the children along for the lovely picnic.

"They were all excited to visit the development and were very happy to take away their own little David Wilson Homes dogs!"
