KEIGHLEY charities could share in a £100,000 giveaway.

The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is offering grants of between £250 and £2,000.

People can nominate beneficiaries by calling at the society's branch in Low Street, Keighley, or online at ybs.co.uk/charitablefoundation.

Branch manager, Jonathan Thewlis, said: "As a mutual organisation we're committed to making a positive and lasting impact on the community here in Keighley.

"There are lots of wonderful charities which make a real difference to people's lives and we want to support their work.

"We know it can be hard for charities to find the funding they need – especially the smaller, local causes which rely on donations and volunteers. So we're inviting our members to recommend those organisations which need a helping hand."

The charitable foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference scheme, where members donate pennies from the interest on their accounts.

Since the foundation was established in 1998, more than £27,000 has been given away through the Keighley branch.
