RAIL services have returned to normal on the Airedale line after a trespass incident at Keighley caused major disruption.
Services between Leeds and Bradford and Skipton were severely affected from late morning.
Several trains were cancelled and passengers on others faced long delays.
Rail operator Northern said services had to be halted when someone was spotted near the lines.
British Transport Police and Network Rail were alerted.
"For safety reasons we have no option in these situations but to close down the line," said a Northern spokesman.
"We apologise to passengers for the disruption that was caused."
