EDINBURGH Fringe festival-goers loved Tom Wrigglesworth so much that they nominated him for a top comedy award.

Local laughter fans can see what the fuss was about when the stand-up star performs at the second comedy night at the High Adventure Centre in Cowling.

Tom promises a disarmingly charming delivery and an unforgettable performance during the October 8 presentation at the Keighley Road centre.

Tom will share the stage with Duncan Oakley who is renowned for an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand-up with one of his trusty guitars, displaying musical skills the envy of many rock bands.

Dan Nightingale, the MC, is described as a one-man comedy machine.

Proceeds will be split between the Alzheimer’s Society, South Craven School PE department and the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.

The event begins at 7pm and tickets cost £20 including food. There will be a bar. Doors will open at 6.30pm.

Originally from Preston, Lancashire Dan Nightingale started his comedy career while living in Newcastle in 2002. He worked as a soundman at the Hyena Comedy Café for six months before finally getting on stage.

Dan moved to Manchester within 12 months and went from barman at the Frog & Bucket, to booking agent, to hosting the new-act night and finally compering the weekends.

In June 2004 Dan turned professional, performing at that year’s Edinburgh Festival as part of the Big Value Comedy Show, returning in 2005 as part of a double-header with Josie Long.
