KEIGHLEY’s globetrotting hip-hop promoter Saby Khan has become a presenter on a new Bradford radio station.

Highfield man Saby, AKA Sabir Hussain, is presenting live interviews and British Asian fusion music during his afternoon show on Bradford Asian Radio.

He claims to have one million listeners across the world via a weblink, with fans in Canada, USA, the United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Saby began his career with dance events in Keighley and on the UK college and university, and went on to organise hip-hop events with acts like Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Akon, Busta Ryhmes, The Outlawz, Apache Indian, Juggy D and Bappy Lehri.

Saby said he wanted to contribute to his local community, and was approached in January by Bradford Council and Keighley radio director Hassan Syed to develop a show benefiting all cultures across Bradford and Yorkshire.

He said: “I will be discussing social and community issues such as education, health issues, drugs and domestic violence, as well as bringing famous Bollywood stars and A-list rappers to the show.

”My show will also be a platform for up-and-coming new singers, rappers and producers who want to talk about their music and entertainment projects.”

So far Saby has interviewed rappers Fonzi and Hammy, boxer Tasif Khan, UK model Allissia Moretti, Bollywood director Julius Packiam, and Dr Sairah Qureshi, a consultant with Action Against Bullying from the USA.

He said: “My listeners love the style of British Asian fusion music I play with a touch of live interview. I’ve also been offered to do cameo radio shows in India, Dubai, Pakistan and New York later this year.”

Saby can be heard on Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm on Bradford Asian Radio which broadcasts on 1413 AM/MW and at bradfordasianradio.co.uk.
