POLICE have issued a plea to motorists after a vehicle found to be stolen was seized in Keighley.
Officers stopped the Volkswagen in Oakworth Road this morning.
West Yorkshire Police roads policing unit (WYP RPU) urges drivers to always check a used vehicle's history before buying.
So-called HPI checks examine the history of a motor vehicle – car, van or motorbike – registered in the UK.
They alert the potential buyer to any issues with the vehicle, using information held by the police, DVLA, finance and insurance companies and other industry bodies.
More than 50 vehicles a day are identified, through the system, as stolen.
WYP RPU tweeted: "Oakworth Road, Keighley. Stolen vehicle stopped and recovered.
"Always do HPI checks before purchasing a car to avoid this happening to you."
