FIRE ripped through the ground floor of a Keighley home.
Firefighters from Keighley and Bingley tackled the blaze, at Redwood Close, Long Lee, this afternoon.
Paramedics also attended to treat an elderly man who was suffering from shock and the effects of inhaling smoke.
Two hose reels were used to bring the fire under control. Four firefighters wore breathing apparatus.
The blaze spread to a conservatory and caused extensive damage to the downstairs of the semi-detached property.
There was also smoke damage to the upstairs.
A special high-pressure fan was used to help clear the fumes.
The cause of the fire – which broke out at about 2.30pm – is under investigation, but it's not being treated as suspicious.
Brigade bosses say there were no smoke detectors fitted in the house.
