KILDWICK Primary School’s Geonauts are really rocking!
Children from years four and five are receiving weekly geology lessons as part of their broader curriculum.
This week the Geonauts met William and Louis, a pair of Victorian geologists, and had to solve tasks that they set.
The geology lessons are led by Mike Windle from the North East Geology Trust and have been funded by successful Awards for All Lottery bid.
Kildwick head Tim Whitehead said: “This initiative aims to promote a love of learning about the natural world and expose children to this area of work that they may wish to pursue as they grow up.
“As part of their ongoing learning the children will be visiting Farnhill Quarry and also Gordale Scar in the Yorkshire Dales.” Switched
