A PROMINENT Victorian building in Silsden dating back to the 1870s is due to be open this autumn as a residential care home following a multi million pound renovation.

Spring Bank, in Howden Road, will be creating 50 to 60 full and part time jobs.

The property was built by Waterloo Mills owner George Jacques. The extensive refurbishment has retained its spectacular architecture both inside and out, including ornate plasterwork, original entrance panelling and a turret.

A family organisation, with over 25 years experience in the care home business, has spent two years painstakingly restoring many of the home's original features, while adding modern facilities including a new 24 bed extension.

The property will open as a 41-bed care home, which will also include a new, specialist dementia unit.

Director Steven Spellman said: “We pride ourselves on providing exceptional care in a home from home environment.

"Our expertise in building and operating successful care homes in the area has given Spring Bank the platform to offer unrivalled facilities in a unique setting."

Spring Bank will be hosting an open day on Saturday October 28 between 10am and 2pm.
