A SUTTON couple are looking forward to being married for exactly 60 years as of Thursday next week. (Oct 26)

David and Molly Binns first met at a local dance in 1956 and were married at Kildwick Church 18 months later.

David, who is a wildlife artist, used to teach art in Skipton, first at Aireville School and then at Ermysteds.

Molly worked for a number of years at Dixon and Stell's Printers, in Cross Hills.

In 1978 the couple moved to Northumberland for 13 years, which is where David became a fulltime artist.

His wife ran their Brent Art Gallery, which was founded during their time in the north east.

In 1990 Mr and Mrs Binns returned to their Yorkshire roots, moving to Sutton, and managing the Brent Gallery in Cowling until their retirement in 2006.

Following her retirement Molly went on to do ten years of voluntary service at Airedale Hospital.

David was a member of The Society of Wildlife Artists and exhibited every year in London from 1968 to 2012. In 2003 he received an honorary doctorate from Bradford University.

The couple have three children – Lorraine, Madge and Stephen – four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
