DISTRICT groups have received a boost from the Skipton Building Society Grassroots Giving scheme.
Eight community organisations across the area have each been awarded £500 in the latest round of grants.
They include The Cononley Singers, Glusburn Youth Theatre and Silsden Carers.
Winners were chosen through a public vote.
David Cutter, the building society's group chief executive, said: "These self-funded groups work hard to improve their local communities and we're proud that the grants will play a huge role in their future growth.
"Often small groups are out on a limb and struggle to gain funding from elsewhere, as they are not registered charities.
"Grassroots Giving enables us to really get to the heart of local communities and we love being able to help causes that we see in action in our neighbourhoods."
The initiative was launched in 2013 as part of the society's 160th anniversary celebrations.
Under the scheme, a range of free resources has also been produced for groups.
