A KEIGHLEY couple will assemble a magical Christmas display in their own front garden this month to raise money for Manorlands.
Sam and Bethany Wardley intend to stage a switch on of the lights to illuminate their display outside their home in Nessfield Drive at 6pm on Monday November 27.
They, along with Mr Wardley's father David, will be putting together the "Wardleys' Winter Wonderland" over the weekend of November 25/26.
It will feature 4,000 Christmas lights, artificial snow, a winter forest backdrop, Christmas trees animatronic reindeer, inflatable polar bears, Santa Claus and a sleigh made by Long Lee resident Neil Holdsworth who is Mrs Wardley's stepfather.
Mr Wardley, 27, who has an uncle currently being looked after by Manorlands, said: "They do some amazing work at the hospice and so many people in the area have some kind of connection with Manorlands.
"We do normally put up lights at Christmas, but haven't done anything on this scale before.
"We're inviting everyone to come to the switch on. I've no idea how many people will turn up on the day."
Once the display has been illuminated for the first time it will remain in place until January 2 or 3, with the lights coming on every evening between 6pm and 9pm.
People will be able to donate money to Manorlands at the switch on, but people can also go to justgiving.com/fundraising/wardleywinterwonderland to contribute online.
