A MAN has been arrested by police investigating an alleged attempted abduction in Keighley.

The 22-year-old, from the town, has been released while inquiries continue.

Police launched an investigation earlier this month after reports that school girls had been approached by a man, who allegedly grabbed one of the youngsters by the arm.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the force had been made aware of several alleged incidents, including one in the Westburn Avenue area on November 2.

Beckfoot Oakbank School described a "failed abduction attempt" against two of its pupils and safety advice was issued to students.
