LAYCOCK residents cleaned up to celebrate the 90th birthday of their village hall.
Villagers joined councillors and council workers for a litter pick in streets around the well-used community building.
The volunteers finished at Laycock Village Hall where they were treated to tea and cakes.
Cl Adrian Farley, who represents Laycock on Bradford Council, described the event as “fabulous”.
He said: “There was a good turnout. It was great to see residents coming out on a damp morning to make a difference. Lots of rubbish was collected.”
Cllr Farley said the event was organised so that people in the neighbourhood could get together during The Whole’s anniversary.
The idea came from a drop-in neighbourhood forum run by Bradford Council earlier this year in Laycock.
Councillor Farley added said: “A lot of people said they’d be up for the to spruce up the village 90th birthday.”
