POLICE have identified suspects in relation to an attempted armed robbery at a Haworth convenience shop.
A report delivered to parish councillors in Haworth on Monday (December 11) said two suspects are now on police bail while officers continue to investigate the incident at Sun Street Stores.
The offence happened shortly before 9pm on Saturday October 21. A man armed with a baseball threatened staff and demanded money, before fleeing the shop empty handed.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers have trawled through hours of CCTV footage and conducted countless witness enquiries to identify two males and ensure they would be charged. They are now awaiting their day in court."
The crime update presented to members of Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council said other offences recorded in the parish in the last six weeks included two cases of parked vehicles being damaged and three thefts from vehicles.
There was also a burglary in Ashlar Close, and an attempted burglary in Haworth Main Street.
Councillors voiced their appreciation for the work done by Police Community Support Officer Helen Wynn-Evans, who is leaving her post in the Worth Valley after 10 years.
PCSO Wynn-Evans is moving on from this patch in January, after successfully applying to become a police constable.
