A KIND-hearted Cross Hills girl hosted a Christmas party with all the presents going to the Salvation Army toy appeal.

Six-year-old Caoimhe Ramsden invited classmates from Glusburn Primary School to each take along a present worth up to £5.

Caoimhe’s family booked Steeton Community Hub for the party and laid on a host of craft activities to keep the 22 children occupied for the afternoon.

Caoimhe, her mother and 19-year-old sister Niamh dressed as elves to greet the children as they arrived, and her 17-year-old brother Callum played Father Christmas.

Caoimhe’s grandmother Sandra Ramsden said that in the past the little girl had organised fundraising for other charities.

Sandra said: “This party was her idea – she just wanted other children to get presents for Christmas.”

The Salvation Army has an annual collection of new toys that are given to hundreds of families in need across the Keighley area.
