SOUTH Craven gardeners are being offered cut-price compost bins.
North Yorkshire County Council has teamed-up with getcomposting.com for the initiative.
The bins are available in two sizes at £8 and £10, but further reductions can be obtained through a 'buy one get one half price' deal.
County Councillor Andrew Lee, executive member for waste management, said: "If you have been thinking about buying a compost bin, now is the time.
"And it's even better if you have a friend, neighbour or relative to share the deal with.
"People may be surprised at how much of their waste can be composted at home. Fruit and vegetable peelings, crushed eggshells, tea bags, coffee grounds, paper, card and garden waste are all compostable."
For more details and to order a bin, visit getcomposting.com or call 0844 571 4444. A delivery charge applies.
The North Yorkshire Rotters, who spread the home-composting message, will be attending events this spring to provide advice.
