BRAND new bus ticket machines which can also communicate road status updates to individual drivers will be installed in Keighley Bus Company vehicles.
John Dunne, operations data controller for the company, announced the news at a meeting of Keighley Public Transport Watch.
He said the technology would enable staff in the Keighley Bus Company office to rapidly warn drivers of any road issues on their routes.
And he confirmed the new ticket machines would be able to accept contactless payments.
Mr Dunne added that the company's existing ticket machines were very old, so need to be replaced.
