CATS and kittens cared for at a shelter in Cross Roads will be getting a purrfect night's sleep thanks to a donation from a Leeds-based mattress retailer.

OTTY has donated 15 of its pet beds, worth £1,200 in total, to Yorkshire Cat Rescue.

The beds will help ensure the charity's feline residents can recover and recuperate both at the charity’s own centre and in the homes of its network of foster carers.

Sara Atkinson, founder of Yorkshire Cat Rescue, said: “We’re delighted to have received this generous donation from OTTY.

"These beds will be valuable in ensuring our cats are as well rested as they can be, to aid their recovery.

"It also assists in the adoption process that all of our rescue cats go through, by offering them comfort in new and otherwise unfamiliar surroundings.”

Yorkshire Cat Rescue works to save the lives of abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens across the county and in parts of Lancashire.

Founder and owner at OTTY, Michal Szlas, said: “Yorkshire Cat Rescue does fantastic work in and around Yorkshire, caring for vulnerable cats in the region.

"We hope our contribution can make a difference and help improve the lives of these animals.

“We’re proud to be a Yorkshire company and we’re committed to making a positive difference in the region by supporting local charities.”
