A MAN who assaulted a security guard while on a suspended sentence has been handed a three-month curfew.

Mohammed Khaliq, 23, of Broomfield Road, Keighley, assaulted a guard at the Airedale Shopping Centre in Keighley in January.

Khaliq had been banned from the centre, and the guard told him to leave before pushing him twice in the chest, after which Khaliq wrestled him to the ground before trying to punch him in the face repeatedly.

Khaliq has 13 previous convictions, including a number for violent offences, and received a suspended nine-month prison sentence for dangerous driving last December.

Judge Colin Burn ordered Khaliq to attend an additional 20 days of rehabilitation, and imposed a three-month curfew.
