Keighley Shared Church and the neighbouring Lord Rodney pub are clubbing together to buy a CCTV camera.
The hope is that the camera will deter thieves from trying to steal valuable lead from the church’s roof.
Thieves last week took £3,000 worth of lead from the south side of the building, overlooking the graveyard.
The church, which has Anglican and Methodist congregations, paid out £7,500 for repairs following a theft last summer.
The latest loss was discovered on Saturday, on the eve of the Remembrance Sunday service.
Heavy rain led to flooding inside the church during the regular “Night Shift” for town centre clubbers.
The Rev Peter Mott, the priest-in-charge, said the missing lead would be replaced with felt and reinforced mesh.
He said such measures would mean the church not having anything on its roof worth stealing.
