New jobs on way as firm moves to mills

A leading UK office supplies firm has moved to Keighley’s historic Dalton Mills and plans to expand.

The Retail Factory has signed a five-year lease on a unit in the mills’ Clock Tower.

It is joining several existing tenants in the 20,000 sq ft office block in the Victorian mill building.

Magna Holdings, which owns the mill complex, said the Retail Factory would be creating new jobs in Keighley.

The firm, set up only two years ago, wants to recruit staff in telesales and e-commerce.

It hopes the revamped Keighley College and a renewed technology focus in Airedale will help to provide the necessary skills.

Simon Wadsworth, director of the Retail Factory, said the move to Dalton Mills provided the right platform for the next stage of the firm’s growth.

He said: “Although we deliver nationwide, we’re also keen to play our part in the local business community.

“We’re always looking for good people, whether it’s in telesales or e-commerce.”

The Retail Factory is a one-stop shop for office supplies for retail, factory or office based businesses, with a national client base.

The firm believes its success stems from a vast range of more than 25,000 products, and discounts and savings that can be passed to companies in the current climate.

Magna said the mills provided a great location for the Retail Factory to expand even further. Management surveyor Chris Lee said: “It is great to see a company like the Retail Factory moving to Keighley, considering it as a good business location and creating jobs there.

“They are a great fit for Dalton Mills — a forward thinking, technology based company.

“It’s a great indication of how the town is progressing and we like to think that we are doing our bit towards its regeneration.” Magna said the Clock Tower, the backdrop for BBC1 show Sunday Life, still had space remaining on flexible terms at competitive rates.
