A busy Worth Valley cat welfare charity found its facilities stretched to the limit after 22 kittens and an adult cat were dumped in a single incident.
Haworth Cat Rescue agreed to accommodate the unwanted pets, three of which have died.
The charity’s campaign manager, Corinne Moore, said they were dumped in the driveway of a home in Yeadon. Two died before they could be given to the charity.
The group was approached because no one was available to help in the Leeds area.
She said Haworth Cat Rescue now covered 700 square miles, and accepting the 20 kittens, pictured, had been a challenge.
She added: “They vary in age from two to 10 weeks. Sadly, little ginger Benny who was very poorly did not make it and there are still three or four who are especially vulnerable in foster care that we’re anxiously awaiting a positive outcome for. The good news is the others are getting stronger. We hope they’ll all soon be recovering and ready to start look for loving homes.”
