Do you remember days of the old schoolyard?

School history days are proving so popular in Keighley that organisers are having to limit the focus of the events.

Keighley School Heritage is concentrating its next display of photos and memorabilia on a smaller part of the town.

The next School Day exhibition will be next Saturday, April 21, 10.30am to 4pm, at Keighley Library’s local studies room.

The presentation will focus on schools that drew pupils from the Highfield and Braithwaite areas, such as Highfield, Guard House, National/St Andrews and Our Lady of Victories schools.

The event will be opened by Our Lady of Victories head John Devlin, and pupils from the school will be on hand to interview past pupils.

Mr Devlin plans to take documents from the opening of the school in 1960. The school also wants to use the archive and new website, Fab Mag, to improve links with ex-pupils and local organisations.

David Kirkley, one of the organisers, said photographs and memorabilia from any Keighley school could be brought along so they can be copied for the group’s archive.
