Bright ideas are sought to give youngsters things to do

Keighley people with ideas for projects to support youngsters could get cash aid to put the proposals into action.

Bradford Council’s Youth Opportunity Fund is offering grants of up to £5,000 to develop schemes.

The fund’s aims include to give young people a voice in what they do, increase their participation in activities and offer them a chance to create projects that promote and improve their entrepreneurial skills.

A spokesman said: “If you work with young people, are a young person yourself or are in a group of young people, this is an excellent opportunity to access resources that can help you.

“Bids should be initiated and run by young people and the proposed activities must be organised from within their local neighbourhood and meet the needs of young people identified through the recent ward planning process.

“It is expected that they will be supported by a bona-fida organisation and an experienced adult will be involved to ensure adequate support and deployment of any successful grant.”
