Day of fun at Keighley bus station raises £700 for charity

Passengers joined in a knees-up as Keighley bus station played host to cowboys, Cleopatra and a talking parrot.
Schools and groups also performed during the fun day, aimed at raising money for WaterAid.
Organisers declared the Keighley-based Big Soup Theatre Group as “awesome”, while pupils from St Anne’s Catholic Primary School enchanted passengers by singing a medley of songs.
Police and fire officers also handed out safety fobs and offered advice to the public.
The day, organised by bus company Transdev and public transport agency Metro as part of National Customer Services Week, raised £706.
Bus station manager Shaun Walmsley said: “It was an amazing day and everyone – cleaners, travel centre staff, security, bus operators and passengers – all got involved. I was overwhelmed by people’s generosity. The day wouldn't have been possible without the help from all who donated freely of their money, time and efforts.”
