Oldfield Primary School has held a double celebration in the style of an agricultural show.
All 46 pupils in the school contributed something to the competition, to celebrate harvest and gaining the healthy schools award.
In the last week of half-term, children took part in a creative “activity week” on the theme of harvest.
The six categories they could enter in the show included making animals out of vegetables, decorating plates, corn dollies, handwriting, decorating buns and an adult Victoria sponge cake contest.
The judges included local resident Carol Young and chairman of governors Mark Curtis, who gave out first, second and third prizes in each category.
Winning pupils received certificates and £3 for a first prize, £2 for a second and £1 for a third. Highly commended rosettes were also handed out.
Head teacher Maggie Redpath said she was proud of what the pupils had achieved and happy the school had been given the healthy schools award.
She said: “The children really enjoyed the week, applying what they had learned during the half-term in new and exciting situations.
“We have been practising a lot of handwriting and as you can see from the items on show the quality is absolutely wonderful.”
