Pupils helping to raise £1,000 at annual summer fair

An annual summer fair at Guard House Primary School was a sizzling success.

The event — which was opened by Keighley deputy town mayor Councillor Ian Wilson, accompanied by his wife Barbara — raised more than £1,000.

Councillor Wilson also judged a fancy dress competition.

The event marked the start of Merlin Week, a series of activities in the school to launch a change of name to Merlin Top Primary.

A visiting wizard entertained pupils with a magic show, children produced artwork and poems on a Merlin theme and there was a display of birds of prey from the Coniston Falconry Centre.
