An author shrugged off snow to travel from the Lake District to Keighley to entertain schoolchildren.
Taffy Thomas, who lives in Grasmere, paid a visit to Our Lady of Victories Primary School.
In October last year he accepted the honorary position of First Laureate for Storytelling, which runs for two years until January 2012.
Our Lady of Victories head teacher John Devlin said: “He has a repertoire of more than 300 stories, tales and elaborate lies collected mainly from traditional oral sources, which he is happy to tell in almost any situation.
“The children enjoyed an assembly with Taffy and the workshops that he provided throughout the day.
“They were given riddles and tales to tell others and their families at home.
“Storytelling is a wonderful skill and we were delighted that Taffy could join us, so that he could inspire staff and pupils alike with his terrific tales.
“This will help the children, not only with their storytelling, but also with their writing.”
