A co-head teacher in Eastburn has beaten off competition to become the school’s new leader.
Jan Elliott, who has shared the head teacher role at Eastburn Junior and Infant School for the last year, will take over the post on a full-time basis after co-head Liz Pratt retires in the summer.
Mrs Pratt, who has led the school for 15 years, announced last September that she was standing down.
In a unique set-up, currently Mrs Pratt is the head teacher on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon and Mrs Elliott takes over on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning and all day Friday.
