A Christmas tree fair at Denholme Shared Church was a huge success.
Organisations were invited to display Christmas trees decorated on a theme of their choice.
There were around 18 entries from groups, including the Scouts, cricket club and school, as well as individuals.
Visitors were invited to vote for their favourites and winners were “Baa Humbug” by Alice and William in the children’s section and “Bare/Bear Tree” by Janet Ackroyd in the adult category. Proceeds — supplemented by an evening of song and cheese and wine entitled “Christmas Crackers”, featuring church singing group Descant — will go towards the upkeep of the church.
