An eight-day-old baby died of a virus after being born slightly prematurely, a Bradford inquest heard.

Edward Stott was the second child of Fiona Alderson and Matthew Stott, of Lodge Gate, Denholme.

The hearing on Tuesday was told that Edward had suffered a productive mucus discharge from the nose and mouth since he was born on August 15 last year.

Miss Alderson woke at 3am, on Sunday, August 24, and noticed he was not breathing.

The medical cause of death was given as pneumonitis due to enetrovirus infection.

Bradford Coroner Roger Whittaker recorded a verdict of death by natural causes.
