Councillors have ignored a transport operator’s objections to speed bumps near a school, which they said could cause injury to bus passengers.
Shipley Area Committee approved the road safety measures for Parkside Terrace, Cullingworth.
Keighley and District Travel had objected to the council’s proposals for speed bumps and a larger “speed table” as part of the £14,000 package.
The company said speed bumps caused “severe discomfort” to passengers and damage to buses.
Councillor Michael Ellis (Con, Bingley Rural) said: “As far as the objections from the bus company go, the answer is quite simple — you slow down.”
