A total of five crimes were reported in Oxenhope last month.

Police community support officer, Debbie Williams, said these included one house burglary, two thefts from vehicles and two instances of criminal damage.

Cllr Cameron said he would like the police to deal with a small group of motorists which persistently speeds through the village late at night.

“There are three or four Corsas which come whizzing up Keighley Road after 10.30pm,” he said.

“This isn’t every night but it happens quite often.”

Cllr Jeremy Mackrell said some motorists were habitually parking on pavements in the village, obstructing people who pushed prams.

Cllr Cameron said it was understandable that people were doing this on some of the parish’s narrower roads.

But he said they should be reminded not to make the pavements impassable for pedestrians.
