A charity runner is organising a 13-mile event along the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.
Steve Auker, from Riddlesden, said anyone was welcome to take part in the September 21 event.
Participants can run, jog, cycle or walk along the route, from Rodley to Keighley.
There will be no entry fee but anybody who raises £100 for Cancer Research UK and completes the course will receive a commemorative medal.
Mr Auker, 51, said: "Everyone knows my aim is to run 1,000 miles in 2008 and I am trying to raise £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
"I have had people stop me in the street while I am running and said good for you, I wish I could do that'. The thing is, most people can do this."
Anyone interested in taking part should visit talkingweb pages.co.uk/13miles.
