The owner of a Keighley sandwich shop is angry that she had to close this week due to flooding.
The cellar of Hopwoods, in Heber Street, filled with water during the Bank Holiday weekend. Owner Cynthia Sykes arrived early on Tuesday morning to discover all her food had been ruined.
Her fridges and freezers had either filled with water, or turned off because electrical fuses had blown. She could not prepare sandwiches for the morning rush and estimated that she might have to remain closed for the next fortnight.
She said much remedial work would have to be carried out before the shop met council hygiene standards.
She was angry that Yorkshire Water had let the flooding happen.
Mrs Sykes said: "It's a hell of a mess. All my stock has gone. There's nothing I can use."
She added: "Being a sandwich shop, everything has to be clean. I think Yorkshire Water should be compensating us."
A spokeswoman for YW said there were two separate bursts on Sunday, one on Heber Street and one in Alkincote Street.
She said: "Both bursts, which were on four-inch water mains, were repaired the same day."
Customers seeking compen-sation were advised to contact either Yorkshire Water or their own insurance providers.
