Man faces indecency claims

A Bradley man accused of gross indecency against children was remanded in custody by Skipton Magistrates.

Brian Christopher Hearns, 65, of Heath Crescent, is charged with four separate counts of gross indecency on a child under the age of 16 between May 2, 1982, and May 1, 1983.

A fifth charge against a different child under the age of 16 relates to a date sometime between September 15, 2003, and April 30, 2004.

He is also charged with exposing his genitals to someone likely to cause alarm and distress between 2004 and 2007. Hearns is also charged with engaging in a sexual activity in the presence of a child on March 10 this year.

He made no plea when he appeared at Skipton Magistrates' Court on Friday. He appeared in custody and was placed back in remand.

He is due to appear again at Skipton magistrates Court tomorrow.
